A 60 year old man came to our physiotherapy centre to treat a serious problem that he was suffering in his ankle joint. He could not walk easily because of the pain he was experiencing and as a result he could hardly walk. He was brought in with the use of an orthotic device(elbow bacteria). On clinical examination the joint was visibly swollen as well as she had a severe temperature. Joint mobility was visibly limited and movement was made with difficulty and pain. Stiffness and muscle weakness was noted. The patient had pain in the joint for a period of about 10 days and then an MRI scan was performed to show the extent of the lesion. The radiologist's diagnosis was bony edema in the anterior and medial aspect of the ankle bone.

A 15-day specialized physical therapy protocol was used on the patient. With the aim of removing the ankle bone edema that was bothering him. A magnetotherapy system was used and more specifically a diamagnetic pump system combined with a high power fiber optic laser. Also over the course of the treatment sessions, an anti-gravity treadmill was used as well as a special protocol for strengthening the joint with exercises. Pain reduction was visible to the patient by the middle of the treatments. At the end of the treatments the patient performed a new mri. After one month and one week from the first mri the improvement of the joint was spectacular.
