Many patients ask us if physiotherapy should hurt or not.
The answer is that it is related to many factors which are unfortunately not constant most of the time. Physiotherapy has been practiced since the time of Hippocrates, Herodicus and Galen. So it is applied to reduce symptoms, relieve and improve the quality of life in people carrying a painful pathology. Physiotherapy must be applied according to the permissible limits of pain available to each patient. The physiotherapist should always ask during the physiotherapy session how the patient feels about the action being applied to the patient's body and whether the application of a physiotherapy machine or rehabilitation technique is tolerated.
